Do yourself a favor and go watch The Final Girls. We love it. You’ll love it. Everybody loves it. Know why? Because it’s totally great, that’s why. It came out in 2015 with little to no fanfare and kind of slid under the radar. Fortunately, the trailer and the cast was enough to get us watching and boy are we glad we did.
The Final Girls follows a group of teenagers as they’re sucked into a horror movie where they’re forced to use their knowledge of the movie to survive. That’s enough to make a movie fun on its own. But there’s more. The fake horror movie stars the now-deceased mother of one of our real life teens. So we get to see Taissa Farmiga’s character, Max, finally deal with the grief of losing her mother. Not to mention that this movie is just hysterical.
There’s really no reason to not see The Final Girls. It’s funny, and touching, and sharp, and pretty, and boy is the soundtrack amazing. So get your popcorn, oven mitts, and flaming arrows and help us defend against the oncoming evil in today’s episode of So…I’m Watching This Show!
