For the uninitiated, Legend is a hard fantasy film released in 1985, directed by Ridley Scott starring Mia Sara, Tom Cruise, and Tim Curry. The theatrical release of the film didn’t do so well, so much so that Tom Cruise sort of disavowed it. However, a director’s cut was released in 2002 which Cruise supports fully. And that’s what we watched for today’s episode.
The major difference between the two is the soundtrack. Ridley replaced the Tangerine Dream soundtrack used in the theatrical cut with a more traditional fantasy-style soundtrack. Other than that, it’s really just some cut scenes and editing changes which affect the flow or the film in a positive way. Not to say that the theatrical cut is bad, but the director’s cut of Legend is the definitive version.
In this episode, Wil revisits a movie which terrified him as a child, and Kristin experiences Legend for the first time. Find out how both of us felt on today’s episode of So…I’m Watching This Show!
