What do you get when you combine the plot of a Baroque French novel with the sensibilities of the late 90’s? Cruel Intentions! With the 20th anniversary passing we decided to go ahead and talk about both Cruel Intentions as well as its predecessor Dangerous Liaisons

While the stories in both are pretty identical, we’re both comfortable admitting that Dangerous Liaisons is definitely the better film. The sexual politics of both are pretty gross by modern standards but the more traditional take ages a little better than the late 90’s update. Plus you can’t argue with John Malkovich, Glenn Close, Keanu Reeves and Uma Thurman in period accurate costumes, right?

Join us for a talk about both movies. What they do right, what they do wrong, and what they do differently from each other! And if you haven’t seen one or both, do yourself a favor and have a marathon ASAP!
