Scott Pilgrim vs the World is a weird movie, and it isn’t for everybody. Well, if you’re a wet blanket who doesn’t like fun then yeah, it isn’t for everybody. But it’s some of the most fun you can have watching a movie. It’s bright and colorful and funny and absolutely original. Still on board? Come along then.

Directed by Edgar Wright of Shaun of the Dead fame, Scott Pilgrim follows Scott as he navigates his relationships. Seems simple enough. He has a fresh ex, some friends who are hipsters, and a new girlfriend. At that basic surface level it seems plain. But little does Scott know that his new gf Ramona has seven evil exes who are all trying to destroy Scott an win her back. And I mean who can blame them? Have you seen Mary Elizabeth Winstead?

Talent-wise Scott Pilgrim vs the World is packed to the gills. Scott himself is played by Michael Cera, Ramona by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Aubrey Plaza pops up, Jason Schwartzmen, Mae Whitman, Anna Kendrick, Alison Pill, the list goes on and on and on. Couple this talent pool with Wright’s impeccable visual style heavily inspired by video games and it’s a complete feast for the eyes and heart.

As mentioned, we think Scott Pilgrim vs the World is some of the most fun you can have watching a movie. Come along the journey with us as we explore the movie more deeply on today’s episode of So…I’m Watching This Show!
