Episode two of The Magicians has proven that keeping our faith in the show was the right move. The whole season seems to be an extended conversation about death and grieving that we were not entirely expecting but is totally welcome. Alice has made a Quentin golem but her internal conditions made him come back as a child. What follows is a heartbreaking plot with Alice, Quentin and Julia where the two girls are able to say goodbye and get closure they needed. Meanwhile in Fillory, Eliot and Margo are messing with time in order to save Fen and Josh. It ends up working but not before Margo tears into Eliot for not caring about their dead friends. It’s clear he’s in denial and it’ll be interesting to see how his emotions end up once he inevitably explodes.
