We like to do themed episodes. Picking movies to fit a theme is fun, and it narrows down what we should be watching. As we rolled towards our second Easter in the pandemic, we weren’t sure what to do. Then we remembered that this time last year the Peter Rabbit sequel was going to come out. It was pushed for the pandemic, like so many other things, but we were wanting to see it. So we decided that for THIS Easter, we’d watch the first one and see how we liked it.
Boy howdy did we ever like it. It was a bit up in the air before we watched though. Kids movies are either hit or miss for adults generally and this one seemed like it was going to be more geared toward kids, rightly. And Kristin has a particular affinity for the original Beatrix Potter source material so we weren’t sure how this would play. Turns out, it’s so adorable but also so damn funny we were rolling from start to finish. With an exception of course for the scene where Peter’s father is killed. But even then we were laughing at the audacity of the movie to go as dark as it did.
Bang for your buck you won’t do much better than Peter Rabbit. Especially if you’re looking for something to keep you entertained through the Easter weekend. It’s has so much heart and so many laughs you’ll have just the right amount of feelings.
So what do you think about Peter Rabbit? Are you excited for the sequel? Let us know over on Twitter or in the Youtube comments! If you haven’t seen it, please watch it. You won’t be disappointed. For now though, grab a cute little jacket and get ready to fight off some humans in today’s episode of So…I’m Watching This Show!
