We were totally fine with the first Venom movie. It wasn’t great, but it was fun and the dynamic between Eddie and Venom was enough to make it bearable. Now in 2021, we had almost no expectations for the sequel, Venom Let There Be Carnage. Turns out, this is the best way to go into that movie, because we actually had a great time with it.

Venom Let There Be Carnage is hinted at in the post credits scene of the original with a very goofy looking Woody Harrelson saying the word “Carnage” and getting fanboys hard. He returned in the sequel with an equally silly haircut to chew every bit of scenery he came into contact with. He’s on death row, but he escapes and is looking for his lost love, also a super villain. That’s it, that’s the story. It’s so simple, and so SO dumb. But it’s consistent and fast paced and never tries to be more than what it is, a stupid action movie.
